About Us

Tom, Eden, and Liev Black
The Year-round Riverwood Community Garden is good both for people who have gardens and for those who don't.  Even experienced gardeners benefit by enlarging and adding variety to their harvests, and beginners get to experience and learn about growing and preserving crops.

And everyone enjoys the benefit of gardening among new friends!

The YRCG is an organic community garden, with fantastic heirloom varieties, with the primary goal being to grow produce to supplement our grocery shopping significantly throughout the year, since food prices have risen a lot lately and are only slated to rise more, due to the price of gas.  Having very low-cost, but fresh, nutrient-dense, high-quality food to eat from our community garden will be all the more important as prices rise.

This 2011 season we will be growing
  • Tomatoes
  • Bell peppers
  • Butternut squash
  • Zucchini
  • Lettuce
  • Beets
  • Carrots
  • And a variety of cooking and medicinal herbs
